Back In Black. I Hit The Sack. I've Been To Long I'm Glad To Be Back. Yes I'm Let Loose, From The Noose, That's Kept Me Hanging About.

Dean decided that he was gonna make a food run, so he took the Impala, leaving Sam and John alone in the room. At first the silence was noticeable. Dean was always seemingly thinking with his stomach first, and pie, burgers and beer took priority over the reunion with their father. John didn't mind, in fact after being dead so long a burger and a beer sounded like heaven right now... well not literally heaven anyways. John cleared his throat and finally began talking to his youngest son. "So... " the first word came out, but nothing else followed. Talking to either one of his boys was something of a chore for John, but even he had to admit that talking to Dean was a lot easier then it was talking to Sam. After all their family had been through, he guessed it was expected. It had been so long and John had a lot of catching up to do with both of his boys, but he knew what Dean probably had been up to, girls, beer, pie, The Impala, and hunting... And not in that order either. For Sam, it was a complete mystery to elder Winchester.
He walked over to the table, hoping to avoid Sam's gaze and he spotted his journal. "You still have this thing?" John asked with a small smile. He opened it up and began absent mindedly going through the pages. He began to wonder how much the journal had helped the boys. He never thought they would keep it this long, figuring they would have thrown it out long ago. He cleared his throat and closed the old book and turned to look back at his younger son, his face suddenly being serious. It was time to power through a long needed and avoided conversation with his son. "So... what have you been up to, Sammy since....my death." John began asking his son, it was a weird question, seeing as John was officially dead for quite awhile. No one would ever think that they would ask their child this question in this scenario, and yet here he was.
"Keeping out of trouble I hope." John added. In truth, Dean couldn't get back fast enough from his supply run in John's opinion cause this was awkward. John knew it didn't have to be, and yet it was. John must have been nothing more to Sam then the absentee father that forced his son into the hunting lifestyle, even though at first Sam begged to be included in hunting. Knowing Sam, he probably had kept out of trouble. Dean was the one that chased all the skirts and drank at all the bars. Sam partook as well, but not to the level of Dean. If there was one son John never thought to worry about in these regards, it was Sam. However knowing Dean, he probably knocked up some girl by now, probably multiple girls and had a number of women angry with him.
