Welcome to the End of Eras, Ice Has Melted Back to Life.
Done My Time and Served My Sentence,
Dress Me Up and Watch Me Die.
It had been a night like any other so far. Eric grew wary of his throne in Fangtasia. The unwashed masses thinking they can approach him, ogle him whenever they felt. There was only one person he wanted looking at him like right now, and her name was Charlotte. Eric and her hadn't gotten very far in that department, which Eric said he was fine with, but it would have been a lie. Eric was a vampire, and being one such as himself, it was difficult for him to remain celibate for too long. He understood however, he knew what he was getting into with a girl like Charlotte. She wasn't like the girls at Fangtasia. The kind of girls Eric just had to look at and they will be all over him if he wanted them to be. The harlots that through themselves at any vampire that even gave the hint of wanting them. Charlotte was different, Charlotte was worth the wait, as tortuous as it was on the 1000 year old vampire.
Leaving the now suddenly boring vampire night club, leaving Pam in charge was a lot easier than Eric had expected it to be. He had left Charlotte in charge quite often, but it was usually for more important reasons than simply wanting to go for a walk to think. For instance, a meeting with Bill Compton, the Vampire King of Louisiana usually took precedence over running a silly little nightclub. Eric didn't know exactly where he stood with Bill, if he was still the Sheriff of Louisiana or if that position had been abolished all together. Now that the impending threat of the Vampire Queen of Arkansas and her pet fae was over, such meetings were few and far between. The quiet of most nights recently was a little worrying for Eric, it was like the quiet before the storm, a time which Eric did not like now-a-days, cause it felt so synthetic, faux, fake.
Eric preferred two times, the one where he knew absolutely nothing was wrong, where he could be free and not have a care or worry in the world. Such a time hasn't ever been on the table for Eric Northman, not since the days of his youth, before his parent's were killed and he became a vampire. Even with Godric the storm was never over. The other time he preferred was the chaos. The war, the battle. He was good at these moments. He was... feared, fearful. He had a purpose, more importantly he had stuff to do. All he had to do right now was listen to Pam complain that alcohol or whatever shipments to Fangtasia were late, or that she broke a nail, or something mundane like that. The only thing that gave him any sort of reprieve from this dull, quiet period was the thoughts of seeing Charlotte again. Even if that meant only talking to her, or just kissing her, looking deep into her eyes. That was enough.
Eric hated cellphones, he really did. Eric hated the modern world, he preferred his time, The more crude nature of it all. It truly was survival of the fittest. But he had to live in the now. He guessed it wasn't all bad. Cars were amazingly fun to drive, though Eric could fly so he hadn't much need for such machines. Still, he had a cellphone. Why, so he could get in contact with people. He was almost begging for his phone to go off, to get a message from Bill that some sort of war was brewing, but it remained silent in his pocket. Eric reached into his pocket and fetched the blasted thing. He opened up his contacts and clicked on Charlotte's name. Starring at the blank message on his screen, he contemplated shooting her a text. He didn't want to come off as desperate to see her, desperate for any sort of excitement in his life, even that of just looking into the eyes of a beautiful women. Normally he would find some tart in his club to toy with for the evening, but that was not an option, not when he was trying to remain loyal to Charlotte.
