Dear Diary, Well things have gotten out of control, Rebekah ran me and Matt off the road at Wickery Bridge, and well Stefan tried to save me, but I refused and I drowned.. end of story huh? Nah, I don't think so. I have become the one thing I promised myself I wouldn't become... a vampire.

Mystic Falls is the one place that is meant to be calm and quiet, but who are you kidding? it's riddled with vampires. Elena faces her worst nightmare when she awakens after the accident and finds she must now endure the terrifying transition to become a vampire – or face certain death. Stefan and Damon are torn even further apart over how to help Elena adjust to a life she never wanted, and everyone has to cope with the chaos Alaric created when he outed the vampires and their supporters to the Mystic Falls Council and local church leaders. Despite everything that has happened to them, as Elena and her friends enter into the final stretch of high school before graduation sends them off on different paths, they feel the bond to their home town of Mystic Falls take on a deeper meaning when a new mysterious villain is introduced who seems intent on destroying it.

Connor, a vampire hunter that has appeared out of nowhere, trying to destroy as many hunters as possible so he could complete his marks. But Elena was the one to kill him, and now her brother Jeremy has become a potential and now all he wants to do is rip his sister's throat out. Tyler and Hailey are working against Klaus, one by one unsiring his hybrids, but Tyler finds out that Hailey has stabbed him in the back just so she can find out about her real parents from Professor Shane, leading to Klaus killing the rest of his hybrids that were sired and now taking Revenge on Tyler by killing his mother, and boy is Klaus going to make that boy pay. Professor Shane, What a shady guy he is, getting close with Bonnie, but he is really only using her for her magic with what he has planned. And poor Klaus, getting his heart stomped on so many times by sweet Caroline, but how much more is he going to take before he snaps? Caroline, who is stuck in the middle of Tyler and Klaus, she wants to be with Tyler, but she is always drawn to Klaus like a magnet, there was something about him she couldn't resist, and well Tyler hanging around Hailey so much, which Caroline doesn't like, is Tyler just pushing her away?

But what none of the vampires/hybrids realized is that Elena is sired to Damon, having already broken up with Stefan, because she wants Damon more, but is it all because of the sire? or is it some genuine feelings? And who else to sweep Stefan off his feet whilst Elena's out of the picture? None other then Katherine Pierce. Now that Stefan is all sad and not with Elena, it is a perfect opportunity for Katherine to get back in the good books with Stefan, hell maybe in his bed. But what about bad boy Damon? Now that he has finally gotten what he wanted, but deep down he always has a soft spot for Katherine because he loves her.. How is he going to react seeing Katherine with Stefan?
