Once again Kyla found herself back in the forest. Why she tolerated the drama at the Salvatore Boarding house was way beyond her understanding. Maybe she just tolerated it for Stefan’s sake. She did like him. She just needed to get out of the house from under his wing and have a little fun of her own. She was getting bored of being in the boarding house. She appreciated Stefan helping her control her blood-lust, but she needed to go out and have a little fun every now and then. Stefan had offered to let her live at the boarding and she was grateful for it since she didn’t have a place to go or call home.
Kyla set her guitar bag down on the ground on a rock and then knelt down beside it and opened it up and took out a blood bag she had in a cooler and opened it up and drank it. The blood was refreshing and it tasted great running down her throat. She pulled out her guitar and threw the strap over her shoulder and tuned it up and then started to play until she heard the snapping of a tree limb breaking and dropped her guitar and stood up.
“Come out wherever you are,” Kyla said coldly as she walked over towards where the noise was coming from and she could smell the scent of fresh blood coming from and she could tell it was human and the veins under her eyes pulsated and she took a breath. “Keep it together,” she said to herself and knelt down by the girl’s body and then she put her hand on her neck. The girl gasped and she looked into the girl’s eyes and compelled her. “It’s all right,” she said calmly. “I’m going to help…you,” she said. The girl’s blood smelled delicious and the veins under her eyes pulsated and she took a breath as she bit into her wrist while holding onto the girl whose neck was bleeding badly. “It’s going to be okay,” she said.
The girl tried to speak, but choked on her own blood and died in Kyla’s arms. “No…no…no,” Kyla said as she began to panic. She grabbed the body and dug up the hole and then she dragged the body into the hole and buried it. She felt tears well up in her eyes. She was covered in blood. She heard her phone going off and ignored it. She kept on walking not sure where she was going until she ran into something solid. “I’m….Stefan,” she sputtered as she wrapped her arms around him shaking from being scared. “I know you probably saw what I did, but I swear I didn’t kill her,” she said, her voice cracking slightly. “I found her body in the woods and I tried…to…help…her….bu—tt….I…couldn’t,” she said as she broke down and started to cry.
