The days had been harsh for Tatia as she was learning of this new time since she had been rotting within the ground for centuries after being desiccated for a thousand years. She left the town Mystic Falls after gathering all the information she could from the locals compelling herself some help to get to know the technology of this darn age. She wanted to get out of town for awhile to stay clear of her Doppelgangers whom clearly needed some help with all they have been through.

Tatia arrived in Bon Temps and realized everything was different here she didn't know anyone which was good on her terms someone who didn't know about what a doppelganger is might be useful to her she had been listening to the people around town how vampires had to abide by the Vampire kings rules of this part and Tatia was curious about how that came to be. Tatia had no emotions she didn't care for rules much anymore so she found the address to this King's address and would herself known to this community.

When she arrived she noticed their were no guards or so as back when she was human wealthy rulers had guards to protect their kingdom. She knew at hand that vampires couldn't enter a humans home without permission however this may be different case. The Original Doppelganger would do the polite thing not really caring for the result her hunger was still out of control but she would hold herself together as long as she could. Tatia wanted to understand this world more clearly and with all the chatter going about this Bill Compton was surely popular and she wanted to meet him.

Was it honestly foolish to believe that perhaps his life had taken a turn for the best? Bill had lived long enough to know not to take things for granted but it was difficult to see any form of a shadow encroaching on his life now. With the removal of the manipulation that had clouded his progeny’s mind Bill had finally been able to return fully to a life that should have been filled with nothing more terrifying than the prospect of Eric Northman growing close to a young fae. If Anita Beauchamp had realised just what her death and the slaughter of her little pet fae would have given him, Bill was certain the vampire Queen of Arkansas would have fought harder. In the end she had been little match for him and his Sheriff, dying in the small cemetery that had once been the portal to her pet’s realm. Anita’s attempt to take over the throne of the state had failed, and it had done so spectacularly. She’d died, her dangerous little pet had died, and in the days following that last fight, he had in fact become engaged to Eric Northman’s sister.

That was a match that still had the ability to steal away his breath. Had Eric suspected that his sister had become the object of his most beloved King’s affections he would no doubt had sent Nora far away from the surreptitious glances. Now it was truly too late for his sheriff to do anything but grit his teeth and wish them the best. It had to have been eating at the Viking, a slow gnawing galling that would bubble over at some point. For now, however, the comments were held back, the relationship, the engagement, allowed to continue. With Hailey returned to her right mind it had truly felt as though peace had finally descended upon Bon Temps, a state of existence Bill was happy to indulge in for as long as he would possibly be allowed to. He was not a foolish man, hadn’t been in life or in his very long death, he knew that eventually the clouds would return to eclipse the silver lining that had followed months of darkness, but for now Bill was willing to exploit the peace and happiness as much as he was able. Eventually the Original Hybrid would make his next demand, eventually the scientists working on the doppelganger blood would have a breakthrough, eventually he would have to face up to all that Mystic Falls wanted of Bon Temps.

Niklaus’ demands had been easy to push from his mind when things were going well. Fears that had clung to him like a putrid stench for months had disappeared and Bill had gone so far as to even clear most of the grounds of the mansion that been home to him and his family in various forms for well over a century of guards. Anticipating nothing more than a quiet afternoon in his study, pondering the financial statements of those businesses owned by the crown of Louisiana. Sat as he was in a home that had once been far less grand, it was almost incredible to think of how far he had come from the humble start in this town. The thought actually had the King laughing to himself as he set down Pam’s breakdown of Fangtasia’s fiscal year, a laugh that died on his lips as he noticed the dark haired young woman on the security monitor he had not been able to convince his guards to remove. The face was vaguely familiar, although not one he was well acquainted with. It was a feeling of déjà vu that occurred often in a life over twice as long as it should have been.

Brow furrowed, Bill headed for the door of the mansion, one that would normally be opened by a guard. There should have been a hesitation before he opened it but the recent peace had perhaps lulled him into a false sense of security. ”I bid you a welcome,” Bill stated cordially to the young woman, his gaze still full of scrutiny. ”Usually I would have had a guard endeavour to discover what business you had come to discuss, but I’m afraid you’ve caught me uninformed at this moment.” Not foolish enough to throw his home wide open to a stranger, Bill kept the door half shut still. He may have been enjoying the quiet life, but he had not entirely lost the memory of what could happen when he made unwise moves.

The heart of the matter was she wanted to see Niklaus fall from his reign from being the predator to be the prey, after what he has done to her descendants it would only seem like a natural order of things. Tatia was not delighted by what she had found out and would try to find any aspect of her families bloodline being used to savvy others. The House of Petrova was cursed most of her family members were either deceased or were very few whatever it may be Tatia would not allow Elena to come to any harm whether she cared for her or not. Tatia would be considered an ancient vampire since she is within the first sired by the Originals she would become a ploy to anyone as long as Klaus's hybrids would not see the light of day by the blood of Elena Gilbert, Tatia's latest Doppelganger.

Once she saw the face of this would be King she could see the handsome features most women talked about in the town. Looking at him Tatia could tell he saw her face as something familiar and sighed softly. She would remain cautious of him as he would her but if she thought that his species of vampire was anything like hers he would know that he would be no match in an even battle she was over a thousand years old after all. "You men always think we women are traitors to our cause. I offer you my advantage because I am the woman they used to love and drool over. I know of this business with Niklaus because I do share a connection with my Doppelganger its rather revolting. I do not like to share to those who are not worthy." Tatia said in meaning of her not sharing Bill and Klaus's little side project because well she knew how Klaus would lash out and make sure their were more bodies to lay waste in the streets.

Tatia did grow aggravated of someone questioning her methods. The man had finally introduced himself with the last name basis causing Tatia to blink once before bowing her head slightly with a nod. Sure, Bill was in a long choke hole with Klaus and Tatia knew Klaus would not leave Bill to his own now that he was in the picture so she had to come up with a plan and Bill was her only option to double cross the Original Hybrid. "And you may call me Tatia. My dealings with Nik were rarely pleasant, he thinks that I am dead, that his mother killed me when she used my blood to turn him and his siblings into such creatures. Since then he has been tracking down my bloodline in search for a new Doppelganger to make his pathetic army of mutts to serve him. I guarantee that I am your best advantage at him all I ask is that you leave Elijah to me." Tatia said entering his home and following him wherever he was headed.

Tatia found Bills kind to be interesting the way they did things but she would not complain at least his line was not compromised by an Original. She glanced upon the features of his home and found it to suit her inner interests as it had old tastes to it something she enjoyed of the past times and nothing of this centuries new devastating features. She would pretend to follow his words if needed and tell him anything that needed to be told so that way she could end what Klaus was up to.

And just when it seemed as though life in Bon Temps had finally settled back to its once sleepy proportions, something came along to upset the balance once more. Bill was not a naïve man, he couldn’t have been after all he had seen in his close to two centuries of life, but he was a hopeful one and each time the lull occurred he had prayed for a lasting peace. The arrival of the Queen of Arkansas’ letter less than a year ago had shattered the peace then, had turned his life and household on its head, and yet as soon as the Queen and her fae assassin had fallen dead in the cemetery, he had hoped that it was over once again. He should have known that it would not take long for another threat to surface, the last thing he had expected though, was for it to come bearing the face of a young woman whose blood he had helped study, and yet had never met. Perhaps if he had he would have been in a position to question the arrival of the young woman on his doorstep now. Elena had been turned, much as Jessica and Hailey had been, against her will, but rumour had it that just as his progeny had, the young woman had begun to thrive. Given that her entire life was back in Virginia, he never would have, never had, imagined that she would come so far to see a King she likely had little idea existed. His face had been splashed on the news when Lilith had taken control of his mind, his turning of Hailey shown around the world and the location of the King of Louisiana’s mansion was no great secret. Still, arrivals of any kind always appeared to be somewhat of a surprise.

Without guards on hand Bill himself answered the door to the mansion. A foolish move perhaps, given what dangers had already arrived in this town, including one particularly psychotic vampire addicted to fae blood, but the semi-familiar face had Bill moving from his study to deal with her directly. Manners dictated his tone, and the warm welcome offered but caution had him hesitating her to welcome into his home, civility had, these days, to come in second place to safety. Politely Bill inclined his head as thanks was offered, the corners of his mouth twitching as he took in a familiar scent. Vampire, of the Mikaelson sort if he was not mistaken. It was at that moment that realisation dawned. Her business, if his identification of her correct, would have very much to do with the work he was doing for the Original hybrid, work that he had known would come back to bite him in the end. Bill fought hard not to stiffen at the words tripping from the young woman’s mouth, words almost as formal as his own. ”I am unsure where such rumours would have originated from,” Bill said, neatly avoiding confirming or denying what was being suggested. The Mikaelsons had assured him of discretion in this matter but talk was spreading regardless, in a manner that could very soon have something more dangerous than a year old teenaged vampire at his door.

The universe had pre-empted matters again, of course. Suspicions he had harboured in a silenced part of his mind had come true before he had allowed a sense of unease over it being too peaceful to fill him once more. If only his visit had been from the youngest of the doppelgangers, it would’ve been a far simpler matter and would have chilled the blood in his veins less. Slowly, Bill canted his head to his visitor, one whose existence Niklaus Mikaelson had neglected to tell him much of, bar the fact that the blood he was synthesising was from a woman whose line had produced a series of doppelgangers, women identical in looks, in blood it would seem. ”That we have not,” Bill stated formally. Wondering just how much trouble he was in for, Bill bent at the waist, offering a bow that would not have been out of place in his own time. ”I would say that I’m charmed to meet you Miss Petrova but I’m unsure that charmed is the correct word for I am feeling at the moment. Stunned perhaps, intrigued most certainly. I will repeat my earlier comment about the rumours involving myself and Niklaus Mikaelson. I’m unsure where you might have heard of them. I didn’t believe that the hybrid’s endeavours were ever well publicised.” In fact Niklaus seemed to take great pains to ensure that few were aware of his attempts to build a hybrid army. Vampires and hunters were vicious alike, and given the chance to prevent an army from being created, they would take any opening given to them.

When the days that Tatia was a human she was kind and quite the fun being she enjoyed the village parties, and on occasion liked being somewhat of the popular girl but when a witch named Esther used her blood to turn her own set of vampires, a different species, Tatia became quite scared and hesitant but her human life had ended shortly when her love interest of Elijah Mikaelson had fed from her and Esther healing her with Elijah's blood had started the dilemma of her new undead life when she drained her blood again to curse Klaus from being the Hybrid he is today. When Tatia became a vampire she was rapid for thirst until being desiccated to sleep for nearly a thousand years. When the Original Doppelganger awakened all of her emotions flustered to the surface that had her turn off that lovely humanity switch something that made her species of vampire very dangerous and unpredictable.

Bon Temps was something of a different style for Tatia she couldn't careless about anyone here which made things rather exciting for the girl. She got caught up with the times and what was new and what was old and what was the head thing here. Mystic Falls was still small with a lot of annoying people especially those who graveled over her precious doppelgangers like they were treasure or even diamonds. Tatia had her own thoughts of her own about her shadow selves Katherine was someone who Tatia would not play well with in fact she would enjoy ripping that woman's hair out of her scalp with her own nails as for Elena Tatia would admit she liked her as a vampire so much more grown up and mature however Tatia was not fond that her lineage would end with Elena Gilbert.

Tatia had a way of reading people and she was careful to observe it was like a twin motion one could sense the pain of another but that didn't mean it always worked. She would ignore her own words that she spoke to Bill Compton and would read his face with her dark eyes. His words were calm and gentle in such made the Doppelganger tilt her head slightly. She spoke her name to him and took a steady breath not to lose her focus. This gentleman was refraining from introducing himself which made Tatia quite unpleasant. "You may feel stunned however I feel nothing and honestly I really do not care for your little chit chat with Nik, your reactions speak for themselves. I am here to offer you an advantage after all I am quite knowledgeable on the Original family topic." Tatia said as she would test his moods and emotions something but a gift of her own.

She had been nice enough to not just barge into his home and she was getting rather bored. "Klaus Mikaelson is always set on getting things he wants most it is not hard to tell what he is up to...I have been rather kind here are you gonna keep a lady waiting Mr...." Tatia said not sure of what to call him. Yes, she was unpredictable but no she had no reasons to pick a fight with this vampire she needed him for her own sights it was only a matter of time.

When it came to vampires young, pretty faces were rarely a sign of innocence or powerlessness. Some of the oldest, most vicious vampires he had ever met in his two centuries of life had been those who had looked the most innocuous. Sophie Anne Leclerq, the former Queen of Louisiana had been five centuries old and yet looked as though she had barely entered her second decade of life, Anita Beauchamp, recently deceased Queen of Arkansas had been much the same. His own maker, Lorena, had played upon her looks, upon the story of being a war widow to lure in those she wished to feed upon. It was a trick that many of their kind had utilised for centuries and so often beneath that china doll appearance lay a blackened heart and a mind that was more twisted than the minotaur’s maze. In the cut throat world their kind inhabited violence had become a tool for survival, one that could often be hidden beneath that pretty mask until it was released in a bloody wave. Some couldn’t hide it so well, like the Mikaelson family. It revealed itself the cracks in their masks of civility and although it was yet to be unleashed upon him, Bill knew that it was only a matter of time before Niklaus grew tired of the wait for the blood he required to build his army of werewolf-vampire hybrids, or Elijah decided to pay another visit to make his polite enquiries and not so polite threats.

The instant the young woman had appeared on his doorstep he should have instantly drew up his caution like a shield and yet Bill had felt himself reeled in once again, sucked in by the sort of face that should have been gracing school corridors instead of the doorstep of the vampire King of Louisiana. Civility had remained in play, his own manners preventing him from closing the door in the face of a young woman whose speech was already laying out traps for him to fall into. The young woman had remained civil too, her head slightly tilted, her dark eyes remaining upon his. Her words however began to twisted, her tone remaining pleasant, the meaning, however, taking on the sort of edge that finally left Bill feeling cautious. ”You have come out of the good of your heart to offer me an advantage over an Original vampire?” Bill questioned, dark brows drawing together as he stared at her. ”There is little point in denying a connection between myself and Niklaus Mikaelson at this point, obviously news of our dealings has spread further than I had believed they might. I do find it hard to believe that any with an advantage over the Mikaelsons has opted to pass that news onto another rather than exploit it themselves.” Bill was aware of how difficult going up against a far more powerful opponent on your own could be. His only shot at taking down the Queen of Arkansas had been to place his trust one hundred percent in his sheriff and his loyalty. Eric had not let him down in the end, he had ensured that the throne remained in the hands of a man he had made it quite clear he could not stand at times.

If Tatia Petrova could offer him the means to slide away from his agreement with Niklaus Mikaelson then he would surely be a fool to turn her away. The agreement had not been one he had entered into willingly in the first place, and although it had proven somewhat fruitful for him he would be a fool to believe it would always continue that way. ”Mr Compton,” Bill finally offered, glancing around the grounds of his home until he finally stepped back and gestured for her to enter his home. ”Please, call me Bill Miss Petrova. It is clear that you’ve had a number of dealings with Niklaus. Those that do, I have heard, most often do not survive long enough to collude with one another about their suffering at his family’s hands afterwards.” He had not been backwards in researching those with which he had found himself in bed. Not as much was known about the Mikaelsons amongst his kind in Louisiana as he had hoped but the reach of the King had certainly grown in the time he had sat upon the throne. The Mikaelsons had created a breed of vampire all of their own, their mother’s magic turning the children, their bite creating hoards of progeny, few of which were sired to them in the way vampiers of his kind were sired to one another. There was little control over those you had turned for them, and violence could not be prevented with a single word of censure. As soon as the young woman had crossed his threshold, Bill turned and began to lead the way to his study. Perhaps he would not find his escape with Tatia Petrova but she could at least provide him with some of the information he had been sorely lacking.

During his mortal life Bill would never have dreamed of questioning the motives of a young woman. The 19th century had been a far more civil time, at least when it came to relations between men and women to his naive, all too human eyes. His encounter with Lorena had changed much of who he was but Bill could not blame all of his current attitude towards strangers offering wondrous gifts upon the teachings of a deranged maker. Many things had gone into the twisting of a once civil man and not all had been attributable to those who had crossed his path. It was only at moments like this one, when he was called on such misogyny that he realised just how far he’d come from the husband and father he had once been, the one idealistic enough to have gone off to war. Well, war had come again but this time the enemy was not so clear, not even when the deceptively young woman in front of him was attempting to point it out.

Unfortunately not looking a gift horse in the mouth had gotten him bitten before and it had left him decidedly horse shy. Or in this case, rude. The Kings and Queens of the states were often mannerless but he had thought himself above it. With the threats levelled by the Mikaelsons hanging over his head he was in no position to start moving against them without some reassurances that it wouldn’t be his heart torn out in an instant. The Original hybrid wasn’t known for his patience or his even temper after all. Then again, many of the vampires who had descended from the family were just as crazy as their makers. If what he had heard about the Doppelgangers was correct then their origins stretched almost as far as the Mikaelsons. That would certainly explain the vampire’s approach and the attitude that he was receiving not unjustly in response to his own. Shaking his head faintly, Bill tried to cut off Tatia’s train of thought. ”This is not a matter of gender,” he assured her. ”I do not believe a person’s gender could affect their actions. It’s more a concern that those who are looking to undermine the Mikaelsons choose to come to my doorstep in search of a like mind.” Bill froze at the thought of just what a role this woman had played in the lives of Niklaus and his brothers. Love was a powerful weapon, especially when it was turned on those who had once held it so dear. ”You do not believe your own descendants worthy of this information?” he enquired, surprise arching one brow high despite his attempt to keep his feelings under wraps. His own descendants were amongst those he counted as his closest allies in this town, to believe otherwise, for him, would be to throw away all he had wished for for his children.

In the end putting up defences and questioning the young woman’s motives had only gotten him so far. Bill knew that he wouldn’t understand her true motives, or hear one word of this plan of hers, until she felt ready to provide them. It was not guarantee that he would side with her, or attempt to bring Niklaus Mikaelson to his knees, but he would at least hear her out. Thankful that both of his progeny were elsewhere Bill had finally acquiesced to let the Doppelganger into his home. It was a risky move if she chose to turn her venom against those aiding Klaus, albeit those who were aiding him under duress of sorts. Leading the way through to the formal parlour, the one now stocked with a ruby vintage of a willing donor rather than the port and wine it had once held when hearts had beat in this home, Bill listened to the words falling from the dark haired young woman’s lips and felt sympathy welling within. Gesturing to the cluster of sofas occupying the centre of the room, Bill crossed to the decanters kept at precisely the right temperature by his guards. ”The so called noble brother need not worry about any repercussions from my direction,” Bill assured Tatia as he tilted the decanter in her direction in offer of a glass of the contents. ”My dealings have been solely with his elder brother, and those have not always occurred willingly. It is difficult to argue against aiding somebody on such an unpleasant course when one could find himself staring at his own heart before he could blink. I have heard little of the Original’s origins. Such a start in life and any weakness it might reveal have surely been well hidden from those who might use the opportunity to rid themselves of such tyranny.” It was easy to see why such a vampire might wish revenge upon Niklaus though. Turned, killed, so that others could be born into such darkness. It truly did seem a crime against the very laws of nature.
